Serious vibration over 50 mph, comes and goes - help pls

I'm hoping those much more knowledgeable than me can help. Our ageing Lucida (1995, M reg, 4wd, 3-CTE), has developed a serious what feels like under body vibration at 45-50+ mph. Now I have been aware for ages that there is loud squealing and virtually no power assistance to the steering when turning, but I've ignored that - power steering is a luxury anyway right ! I've spoken to my mechanic, who's over the years developed a reasonable knowledge of our Lucida, (cam belt, water leaks, oil leaks, transmission pipes, cooling pipes, radiator etc etc), and he says it sounds like 'front crank pulley problem' ? He says it's a fairly straightforward job, and needs a part which I should be able to get quite easily on the web. So my question is, can anyone tell me exactly what part I'm looking for ? Thanks

passenger side brake calliper has seized. had this my self you need to strip it back clean re grease and re seal.
Seal kit costs around £20 from Toyota about two hour job from start to finish. I have written a tutorial on the site for this problem please read

Hi there, thanks for the reply, I've been advised that my propshaft couplings are completely shot, so I got hold of a new pair for £30 and my mechanic is going to fit them tomorrow. I'll ask him to check the brake callipers whilst he's at it.

I would advise not going for cheep couplings unless they come with a backble warranty. They don't normally make noise at speed when perished normal idle and when pulling away. would be nice if this does solve all your problems

Had the couplings done, they were shot, some of the rubber completely perished. Got the garage to tighten the power steering belt at the same time, and also asked them to check the brake callipers as per your advice, and they were sticking ! So had them completely stripped down, cleaned and re-fitted. And now - it's like a new car !!! No vibration, no squealing, no periods of 'sluggishness' - lovely. Haven't had the bill yet, but hopefully money well spent. Cheers for your help.

so glad for you. normally when you go to a garage and know what your talking about garages can be good with the price. fingers crossed on the price but they are such a nice bus to drive when there running right.
