Immobiliser problem

My friend lost her keys to previa, got new ignition barrel, try with the black box off side of ignition, still won,t start. Does anyone know how to bypass without going to main dealer.

can you not remove the blackbox by tracing the wires back to the ignition and snip em off.At least your friend can drive till she can get it reinstalled(if she wants to)

Best bet, is to get access to the immobiliser, see what details you can find then try to contact the manufacturer. Our car had an aftermarket fitted setup.

Right, she got the key chipped, but no joy,.I think she needs to get another ignition barrel and the small black box with key. What do you think.

does the new key come with chip if not pop to toyota and just get a new key cut and programmed. you could look for a second hand barrel with the box. the trouble i had with an escort was the one i bought had a different plug tried to re wire it but could not get it to work so ended up at fords for the keys reprogrammed ending me paying out twice.

Cheers again Tony. I can see the small black box on a wire on the listing, but reading on the web , the ecu and transponder etc have to all match. I have forwarded the link on, no doubt I,ll be called to brum to fit lol
