Well I've done it
The Shuttle is gone.... Its taken many months to make a decision, and get the oppertunity to find a diesel MPV under £1000, Voyagers were out of the question as they always crossed the £1k mark regardless of age. This one I've got is a rareity on the roads, and this one I've bought is the first one I have ever seen
2.5 TDI Auto Probably the same setup as the Bongo
4 captains chairs
In dark Metallic blue....and not 2 tone
1995 N
Mileage unknown, 96k on the clock but the cable is not working
Issues....No MOT, in for test later today, Chronic oil leak from around the turbo, but not or interfering with the turbo, auto box has electrical ''hold'' problem (same overdrive as the Esti!) Bought in Oldham, 140 miles away...done 80 miles before ceasing to go in top gear....got the rest of the way home in 2nd at 35 mph....much to the annoyance of a few less than understanding motorists
Top gear had returned a few hours later after a well warned rest, but the hold light continues to blink.
Drives beautifully, good power, no knocks, stays in a straight line without any pulling.
As I can only manage the sub £1000 for a people carrier and now that I have diesel again, I have no choice but to stick with this Mazda, not that this bothers me so much as I will never forget just how expensive the Shuttle was on petrol.
Statistics.... 100 miles per week....£45 on petrol Dont get me wrong though, the shuttle is a very comfortable and has been 100% reliable. Despite its 156K miles it still felt little or no wear and tear.
Pity I couldnt raise £1400 as 2 days ago a right good MPV came up 30 miles away
Good for veg use, but not at the percentages an Esti can handle.
Now lets see how many of you are familiar with this make of car?
The picture is not of mine...a sample, will post some pictures of course in time.
