diy window tinting

hi e1 me again anyone got any tips on window tinting a previa ive seen a few clips but i made a right pigs ear of 1st few atempts .... tried looking for the topic on here but its dissappeared gggrrrr .... cant get it started off lol ..... it says keep sprayin window with mild soapy water but it dont stick .... without it made a bigger mess lol

my advice is save up and get it done professionally.had my bus done about 6 years ago and it cost £250.not cheap but different areas prices vary.im told the side windows are relativly easy,the rear windscreen is a nightmare to do,like trying to wrap a football aparently! :

you need a small sqeedgy and push from the center out to the edges removing all the soapy water the rear window is easier done in 3 or 4 sections cut along the heater lines to hide the joins i think i have a tutorial on my home computer i'll have a look tomorrow

that be great .... got to order some more as i didnt do a great job and the tint didnt look as good as i hoped it was 15% so thought it would be more dark than it was ......  :

some tints are better than others, dont go for the really cheep ones because the tend to be a harder plastic and don't flatted so nicely. first roll I got off ebay where great but the seller no longer does it.

got mine off a seller on ebay £14 for 6 metres .... it seams ok like selatape cant spell it lmao  light smoke but was expecting it darker pity they there isnt much choice of colours tho .... thinking about mirrored affect this time as smoke affect was just dark brown lol was expecting a slight gray affect from it  :

when i done mine a few years ago i cleaned them first with straight vodka then using a garden spray soaked the window working from the middle using a squeegee take your time to work out all the bubbles and hope it all comes together mine was OK until the kids came along lol

Easiest way is professionally thats for sure, but I've seen it done some years back, The glass must be 100% clean first.  Any windows that come out, taken out and the glass completely immersed in warm, soapy water, the tint was applied with a squeegee from the middle out, over and over and over again to get rid of air and water bubbles.  Its a case of being completely meticulous where squeegeeing is concerned.....it cant be done enough times.  Its a huge help in having the glass in the water as this eradicates virtually all the air....but the water bubbles still are a problem.  Any water pockets left were removed after the glass was reinstalled by the use of a fine pin.  The job was perfect afterwards.
Even putting a plastic sunvisor strip is the same principal, harder perhaps because of the bend etc in modern windscreens....I done one several months back in my Shuttle and it took 1 1/2 hours to get right
Now the Mazda...different story its already in the screen, and the rest of it is already tinted and in good condition.

I recently got a quote of £120 to have a professional tint the back 5 windows on my car.

so may work out better that way?!
