kerosene

i have read and forgotten most of the tech stuff here, (message to self bookmark in future), can i just go to the pumps and say get 20 quids worth of diesel from one pump, then get say 15 quids worth of kerosene, then drive away whistling merrily, diesel over here is 1.46.8 euro per litre, the kerosene is 0.94 cents, this would make up for the unbelieveable high road tax the higher the cc the more one has to shell out.

or just fill it with kerro and add IIRC 5% engine oil (new or used). Not a good idea in the uk as kerro/white central heating oil has a chemical marker in that can be detected by HMR&C (same as red diesel)

Kerosene is a grade thinner than diesel..but has no additives for lubrication so can wear your pump out rapidly if used on it's own.
Good for thinning veg when desperate.. but as no duty has been paid it carries same fine and penalties as using red derv in uk.
Europe I am unsure of regs.

Likewise, it'll run on a diesel/kero mix but it does smell a bit different and more importantly it's not road legal and can lead to a big fine and losing the bus

over here one pays duty for it at the pumps so i assume that duty is dealt with, i will try a 2 diesel to 1 kero mix to start with tomorrow, which should make the motoring costs a little better, i will work up to 50/50 after a while, i am in no rush, thanks for your replys, please keep them coming.

You can put NEW veg oil straight into tank... no mods needed.
If you want to use WVO.. waste Veg Oil.. then you'll need to filter it down to at least 5 microns using filter socks.
Then you can just pour it into the tank...
