diesel pump timing

hi , i swap diesel injection pump and now i have problem to set proper timing angle on pump , engine working very hard and mil light is on . Fault code 14 , i have all ready fix old sensor on pump but still is problem . Thanks for any suggestion

if its the 3ct pump which looks like this.


then you need to undo the two 17mm nuts on the black part of the housing shown in picture two and line the pump dead middle
if you look in the 3rd pic you will see the pump removed the housing of the pump is the part which has the two nuts still in place also there is a nut at the back of the pump (if yours is still there) this needs to be undone so you can turn the pump if yours is sounding like a london cab then chances are the pumps not set in the middle, do you have loads of black smoke when you kick down?

The way I worked it out was undone the bottom nut on the pump and loosened the top nut slightly. Then I started the engine and let it run, I adjusted the pump angle until the engine sounded sweet Grin
Can't remember which way was which though Huh?

i took mine to a jap garage to have a second hand pump fitted and when it came back the pump was near leaning drivers side, anyway when bob looked at it back in 2008 he said it needed sitting in the mid that was near as factory set. evening mince.

mine is  3 CTE , i have fit new one but not working as should  Embarrassed

not done a 3cte pump but would say they would be the same,hope kerno will pick up on this thread Undecided
