Got a friends T4 on drive, which had sheared the key off the crank gear.
Optimistically he went for a new belt, tensioner and crank gear... but although it turned over and stayed timed, appeared to have no compression.
Have today spent day stripping engine down to get head off. Apart from some really awkward allen bolts and the exhaust spring clamps, have got it stripped down. Well I say stripped down, the head is STILL on held in place by 6 of the 10 bolts. This is due to not being able to undo the cam bolt... it just will not shift. Tried knuckle bar, knocker gun, lump hammer and chisel and quite a few choice words.
:
Only option left as I do not have gas/oxy torch is to cut it off with angle grinder. But this will leave a useless cam bolt.. not too much problem if I can source one as from look of head it WILL be a recon head anyway.
6 of the 8 valves are open and seem jammed... not holding much hope for the pistons at this point.
