Alloy Wheel Refurbishment

hi all....

so i brought some previa O.E alloys with the intention of a first time D.I.Y refurb
so today i started on them i first removed the tyres and rubbed them down with an 80 grit
all has gone well so far i still need to filler them and paint them but hey at least i have started

so i got some pics of before:

The best thing to do to start from fresh is dip them one by one in a bath of nitromors itll strip them like a blonde lap dancer!!
Then you need to start with some 800 grit wet and dry,using some light oil,until nicely smooth then take it down to a 1000 grit,itll take time to do well,you may just have to accept one or two of the bigger marks/kerbs.
To start spraying youll need some etching primer,as standard primer dosnt like alloy to much and leaves a soft finish that peels marks easy,if needed you could add a couple of coats of filler primer,this may fill one or two bigger marks.
Give it a good 2 coats of the etcher and allow EACH coat to dry,sand gently with 1200 grit W&D[dry] to remove blemishes and then move on to the standard grey primer/filler  and give 2-3 good coats,with a gentle rub down with 1200 grit wet and dry [dry!]in between each FULLY dry coat,dust well,blown air works well!!
Give the primer a full day to dry and go of fully,placed in front of radiators works quite well as a home drier.
Then move on to the colour youve chosen,rub the primer down with the 1200 until its smooth as a babys butt!! and as good a surface as you can get.dust and start with the colour coats,let EACH coat dry fully and then rub down with the 1200 dry,give another coat,dry and yep rub down!! same again until youve built up enough colour i normally use 4-5 coats for a good finish.lightly sand the finsh to remove any imperfections.
Give it another 24hrs then start with the lacquer,same routine coat,FULLY dry,light sanding,re-coat etc etc until your up to 4-5 coats.
OR!!
clean em of,wipe down with white spirit and give it a few coats of paint,itll last for a year or two before it starts to peel and lift but youve saved about a weeks worth of spraying and rubbing down!!.

That is a top finish... as you say, like new.
Only problem I can see for me is that I don;'t have alloys nor the 200- to pay to get them refurbished.. 
But why would a village idiot need alloys anyway..  :
