Funny this...just bought a quad trailer, ebay of course for £42 on a whim, never expected to get it and for several days didnt know what the hell to do with it
so I decided to build it up, Its made of light angle iron and diamond wire mesh....even on the floor, which I'm not changing as I want the end product to be as light as possible! Putting fixed high sides onto it, the end door is a ramp anyway so it will be perfect.
Would love to find a scrapyard to get 2'' x 3'' box section for the drawbar and to strengthen it but all the scrap goes to china these days
Anyway, heres a few pictures,
Trailer 1) built in 1990, (4 x 6) used it to sell firewood, my business was just about to take off when I came here
but the trailer done one great last job....brought all my stuff on it in 1993. Sold it 2 years later...had no use for it sadly.
Trailer 2) (4 x 6) bought as a frame, longest build as I had the van at the time (2007), had to put a ford escort van axle on it as the original wheels were those silly cheap things that broke with a ton of bricks one day
Trailer 3) (4 x
bought less than a year ago, for the bike as trailer 2 was not long enough for it. much lighter than the first two trailers, also had those nasty small wheels, another escort axle. was going to finish the build with high sides this year....but now due to the arrival of trailer 4 thats not going to happen!!!
Trailer 4) (4 x 9) very light, dont need a heavy traile, but length is best, bike now gone, so much for the last idea
another escort van axle got for this too....
