Fingers crossed that it goes well Chris. I assume you've gone for a complete new Rad!. Is your Shoggy auto or manual?.

the rad is all metal and its the inlet pipe on the rad thats corroded through, also the core is ropey anyway hence the transplant rather than repair.

have you tried serck marston? chris... they recondition radiators....i used to work in a ford parts department and used to send-off all broken rads to be repaired.....they were allways very good/reasonably priced, quick too.
google for your nearest one.

Thanks ade,i had looked into having the rad reconditioned, but the shogun is our only means of transport now and i need it for work, otherwise i would have had it done instead of buying a new one

I agree... the only time they'll actually repair your rad and give it back to you is if they do not have any there... so a quick call will confirm it either way..

Hopefully you'll have no other problems...
so far im very impressed with the car, lots of power on tap and the diesel and the petrol version are about the same on fuel.actually fuel consumption is about the same as the previa to be honest.had a couple of issue's in the first few weeks after i bought it.nearside front calliper started binding but the dealer sorted that out and fitted new pads aswell.and a couple of dash lights kept coming on intermittently while the engine was idling.i sorted that myself by re adjusting the idle screw on the throttle body as it was set too low hence the warning lights on the dash coming on.

well i fitted the rad today and a new thermostat too after some knuckle scraping as i think the 24 valve 3 litre engine is shoehorned in these motors lol.as usual ive got a piece left over after refitting.the viscous fan cowl wont go on the new rad as its a tripple core rad and is a bit wider than the original one,but apart from that the transplant went easy enough.

You could trim the rear part of the cowl .. then it should fit..
