Freecycle
« on: February 09, 2010, 10:37:10 PM »

Ok I use freecycle a fair bit....both for getting shot of stuff...and getting some stuff :-)
Just thought I would post here too..so that if I or anyone else is getting rid of anything on Freecycle they could pop it on here and if anyone local wanted the item they could have it.
Not sure anyone uses these any more...but i have a portable tv/video combi ....silver one scart..the video probably needs a clean out...if anyone is interested.pm me.( obviously local to me..FIFE!!!! or there abouts)
Happy to hold onto it a bit longer if anyone here wants it.

Nice idea half-pint, as they say charity begins at home.  I've heard many good stories about folk who had nothing and was able to do very well from freecycle.  Sadly this is not the case with thier listings in Northampton and they are moderated and organised poorly.  Main problem is the sheer volume of wanted in that section with very little good items turning up and being had immediatly, surprisingly though the local tips take in enourmous amounts of good stuff, especially the electrical items which they will not sell on to the public.....So much for recycling!!!! not to mention councils Embarrassed
I've passed on items here free to our members and will continue to do so and encourage every one else to do so to.

It may be an idea in the future to have a 'SWAP/FREECYCLE' meet. somewhere central to everybody in the summer. and with a good camping location/site. i have loads of shit erm' items to swap/give away.

I'm not gonna be tempted to go off topic... I am not !!

But a wonderful thing Ah Souls! Ah Souls ! Ah Souls!   :SmileyTongue

An annual meet would be good... but would mean that myself  and Halfpint would have to drive halfway across the uk...  I don't mind as already done the Halloween meet in shropshire..  Wink

Why don't you set up a section near the For Sale / Wanted areas on the forum for a Freecycle type section?
