my nans Zepher
« on: July 21, 2008, 06:00:14 AM »

In 1995 sadly my nan past away and left me her concours 1961 mk 2 ford zepher zodiac saloon.it had 2 tone paintwork, primrose yellow over frost white.my nan was 91 when she passed away and drove "the big Zeph" as she called it until the day before she passed away.she only drove it to the village shop and back,a distance of 4 miles every day for 40 years Grin.unfortunatly i dont have any actual pics of the car as they were stored on a previous pc and when the hard drive fried itself i lost all my pics.but heres a link to some pics on the web of a similar car.sold it to a collector after driving it for 2 years myself as i had no garage and the the weather was starting to get to the cars paintwork CryCry

I'm always on the look out for a Zodiac. I like the MKII, with the big bench seat and colum shift. We bought one about 15 years ago, as a barn find. It had 20K Miles on it, and was immaculate. As we winched it onto the trailer, the floorpan and chassis snapped in half, and the roof buckled!!.................needless to say..............it stayed in aforementioned barn!.

I love old fords, got a soft spot for the zepher of course, but ive had a few fords over the years, including 4 escorts 2 mk 2's a mk 3 and mk4.

My dad always had cortina's from the early 70's till 1983 when production ceased Cry

ive had a 75 mk 3 cortina GXL which i loved, that was written off by a transit milk float

also had mk4 and mk5 both 2.3 Ghia's one aout and one manual.

my last ford was G reg Granada 2.9 scorpio which was gorgous, full leather interior and all the bells and whistles to go with it Grin

Funny how Ford lost it all of a sudden, their design team hasn't been very kind to them for the last decade Cry

Although the new Mondeo isn't that bad
