The difference between an Emina and a Lucida

The reason why we had a wide-bodied Estima (Previa/Tarago) and the narrower Estima Emina/Lucida can be found here: Estima Motoring Community - Model Info - Estima

The Emina & Lucida are almost totally the same - save different front ends and small changes at the rear. Mechanically, dimensionally and internally, they are identical. The reason for having two models was down to Toyota having 2 seperate Divisions market the car - having the 2 models meant that Toyota could have seperate stats for each. (If you want to go deeper into the reasoning, ask Toyota!)
 
The easiest way to ascertain if an Estima is an Emina or a Lucida (bar looking at the badge on the tailgate! :Smiley), is to look at the front end:

 Undecidedthe emina i just bought has emina on theback yet according to that is a lucida at the front Shocked

New tailgate possibly although from what I've heard if you really felt like it  even the front was interchangeable before it left the factory Tongue

no its an emina - V5 says it is but its deffinately got same front as my luci

Wouldn't bet on the V5, seen them listed as a diesel Previa (mine shows up as that on the MOT computer) before. DVLA weren't too consistent with that bit when they were imported.

Neima has the same front as a Luci but she is definately an Emina... Toyota had a very large options list for the estima by looks of it..  Tongue

Hell they were lucky the seats managed to match from back to front, I had a Rover (not Austin) Maestro, presumably one of the first things they dropped the Austin badge from I don't think they managed to fit the entire gearbox in that thing before the end of the shift and I'm fairly sure they forgot a cylinder too Grin
